History
PM School Cosmetology Arts Sciences is located in the heart of Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula. We are the former Paul Mitchell School, now owned by Peg Lippens and Mary Doyen, who purchased the school in August 2017. Our campus has a small class setting which allows for a lot of one on one time with the instructor.
At PM School, you will learn the up-to-date techniques of cutting, coloring, and styling hair, perms, high lights, acrylic nails, gel nails and nail art. You will also learn about the cosmetology business, customer relationships and business management. If you have a creative nature and hair is your passion, PM School is the place for you!
Approach
We intentionally keep small-class-numbers, ensuring each student receives lots of personal attention. We want to nurture each student's development at every stage of our program. Cosmetology students gain necessary skills as well as modern and creative techniques in all aspects of the industry including hair, nails, and skin care. Nail Technician students acquire fundamental skills for all aspects of nail care and beauty, including manicure, pedicure, and nail extension techniques.
Our teaching methods include demonstrations, theory, workshops and extensive hands-on experience in our clinic classroom. PM School goes above and beyond the minimum state requirements to offer Specialty Classes along with an insightful business training segment, providing students needed qualifications to begin a professional career in the beauty industry.

Peg Lippens
Owner, Director of Education
I have over 45 years in the beauty industry. I provide a current and up to date curriculum along with fun and exciting classes. As the former Education Leader at Paul Mitchell the School Escanaba, I have been highly trained in all areas of cosmetology by the best national educators in the industry.
I am a firm believer of continuing education and am licensed to teach cosmetology in three states. My focus is always on setting the students up for success and life long careers in the industry. My passion is the students and providing the tools they need to be successful, from hair, skin and nails to business building, resume writing and interview skills. I share my knowledge and experiences with all my students which in turn makes my classes unique and one of a kind.

I have been licensed in the Nail Industry for over 20 years. I believe in continuing education and have expanded my expertise to cosmetology and teaching. I bring fun energy to my classes and am committed to the student’s success. I love both men’s and women’s cutting along with the style and finish. I am a well rounded leader and am ready to train students for a successful career in the beauty industry.
